Pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas merupakan langkah penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan kota yang bersih dan berkelanjutan. Bank Sampah berperan sebagai titik penggerak masyarakat dalam memilah dan mengelola sampah secara mandiri di tingkat lingkungan (RT, RW, maupun kelurahan). Sebagai bentuk pendokumentasian atas kondisi, aktivitas, dan perkembangan Bank Sampah di Kota Semarang, maka disusunlah Buku Profil Bank Sampah ini. Dokumen ini menjadi catatan resmi yang menggambarkan kiprah komunitas dalam berkontribusi pada pengurangan sampah dan perilaku ramah lingkungan.
Penyusunan Buku Profil Bank Sampah ini disusun dalam bentuk soft file sebagai dokumen data kelembagaan yang memuat informasi lengkap mengenai 13 Bank Sampah di Kota Semarang. Bank sampah tersebut merupakan binaan BINTARI Foundation dengan mitranya yaitu PT. Indofood, serta dilengkapi proses pengumpulan data oleh mahasiswa magang Ilmu Lingkungan UNNES. Buku ini memuat identitas masing-masing Bank Sampah, riwayat pembentukan, struktur organisasi, jumlah nasabah aktif, jenis sampah yang dikelola, aktivitas operasional, serta dokumentasi kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan seperti sosialisasi, keikutsertaan dalam lomba pengelolaan sampah, pelatihan hasta karya, dan bentuk edukasi lingkungan lainnya. Seluruh isi buku disusun secara ringkas, informatif, dan konsisten agar dapat dijadikan rujukan dalam evaluasi dan pengembangan program di masa mendatang.
Proses penyusunan buku dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan terstruktur, dimulai dari pengumpulan data primer melalui wawancara langsung dengan pengurus masing-masing Bank Sampah. Observasi lapangan turut dilaksanakan untuk mencatat kondisi aktual fasilitas dan alur kegiatan operasional harian, serta untuk memastikan kesesuaian deskripsi dengan realitas di lapangan. Data yang dihimpun selanjutnya dianalisis dan diselaraskan sehingga menghasilkan pemetaan informasi yang akurat, seragam, dan representatif bagi setiap Bank Sampah.
Buku profil ini berfungsi sebagai basis dokumentasi resmi yang mencatat karakteristik kelembagaan, aktivitas komunitas, serta capaian kinerja masing-masing Bank Sampah binaan. Penyajiannya dirancang sebagai arsip data yang terstandarisasi, dasar pelaporan administratif, serta referensi bagi perencanaan strategi pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas. Dengan format soft file, buku ini dapat diperbarui secara berkala, mudah diakses, mudah dibagikan, dan berfungsi sebagai model dokumentasi kelembagaan yang dapat diterapkan di wilayah lain dalam rangka mendukung budaya pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan.
