Pekalongan – In commemoration of the 78th Indonesian Navy Education Day (Hardikal), TNI AL Tegal Base together with BINTARI carried out Mangrove planting on the coast of Wonokerto, Pekalongan Regency, Friday, 17 May 2024. The activity began with a speech from the Commander of TNI AL Tegal Base and was opened by the Head of Central Java Environmental and Forestry Agency, Pekalongan Branch Office, Mr. Gunawan, S.Hut., M.Eng. Through this activity, the Indonesian Navy invites the public to protect Wonokerto beach from abrasion and environmental destruction.
The activity was attended by Dandim 0710 Pekalongan, Pekalongan Police Chief, Head of the Pekalongan District Prosecutor's Office, Chair of the Pekalongan Regency DPRD, Deputy Chair of the Pekalongan Regency DPRD, Head of Wonokerto PPP, Head of Wonokerto Harbormaster, Wonokerto District Head, Danramil 10 Wiradesa, Wiradesa Police Chief, Village Head throughout Wonokerto District, Wonokerto Kulon and Saka Bahari Farmer Groups. This activity succeeded in planting 10,000 mangrove seedlings. This planting is expected to raise awareness among the community and fish pond farmers not to cut down mangroves. (AAK)
